A True Botanicals Review
I've always been incredibly selective about the products I bring into Shimmer. I only sell what I believe in and what I've personally tested. This commitment became even more important earlier this year when I found myself in a bit of a bind. Juice Beauty, a line I had carried and loved, decided to drop small businesses. At the same time, my appearance on the regional TV show Chronicle brought an influx of new customers to Shimmer who were specifically looking for potent anti-aging products.
The term "anti-aging" has always been one I've struggled with. In my opinion, aging shouldn't be something we're trying to fight against. Instead, I believe in aging gracefully—embracing the process while caring for our skin in a way that enhances our natural beauty. And let’s face it, any products you’re using to cleanse and hydrate your skin are effectively “anti-aging.” With this philosophy in mind, I knew I needed to find a new skincare line that aligned with my values and could deliver real results.
Enter True Botanicals.
When I first tested the True Botanicals line, I was admittedly skeptical. Any brand that has that many celebrity spokespeople and a go-to dermatologist that looks like a model raises a red flag for me! I was so wrong! I don't have any major skin issues that I'm trying to solve, so I often find it hard to see a significant difference when I try new products. But from the very first use of the True Botanicals Chebula collection, I was impressed. My skin felt noticeably plumper, and there was an undeniable glow that I hadn't seen before.
What I appreciate about True Botanicals is the richness of the products. They’re a bit heavier than the One Love Organics products I use in the morning, which layer so beautifully under my makeup. Because of this, I’ve made True Botanicals a staple in my nighttime skincare routine. I’m not in love with how the Chebula collection feels on my skin all day—it’s a little too rich for that—but applying it before bed is perfect. It’s easy to incorporate into my routine, and I wake up with skin that feels soft, hydrated, and rejuvenated. Their Turmeric collection also has rave reviews and is formulated beautifully, it’s just not the one I decided to keep in my routine. Chebula all the way it is!

If you want hydration while also fighting fine lines and wrinkles, the Chebula Serum will be your best friend. It feels super fresh as soon as you put it in and your skin will instantly be glowing. The directions do say to use an entire dropper but I found that to be way too much. Half a dropper is all I use and I wake up with the most hydrated skin I’ve had in a long time.

How to Use
Scoop the balm with the spatula and apply directly to dry skin. Massage all over your face, even your eyes, in circular motions until you feel your makeup dissolve into the balm oils.
